Presented Without, or at least very little, Comment
Aug 15th
You know how folks used to come back from vacation and make you sit through hours of boring slides from their vacation? Well, I won’t make you sit through them, but here they are anyway.
We drove over through Vermont on the way back to the Cape (as if Vermont was actually on the way) stopping in various antique stores and small towns along the way. So without further comment … ok, with just a little comment sprinkled in.

Funny how New England junk looks quaint.

I thought this looked like the Addam’s Family house.

The classiest Roach Coach I’ve ever seen, complete with actual linens on the table.

This old dam is actually once again a functioning dam, generating hydro-electric power for a glass-blowing and pottery studio housed in the old mill.

Sadly, this coffee house was closed by the time we got there, but really, the coolest looking coffee house I’ve seen. There were even chairs overlooking the gorge.

And then we ended up back in New Hampshire, at Mrs. Blue’s Alma Mater, Dartmouth. Another little-known fact: I considered going to Dartmouth, and even applied. Don’t remember if I got accepted or not.

And that’s the end of the road-trip through Vermont and New Hampshire. There may not be very many pictures from down here on the Cape, but you never know!
Time in the Woods
Aug 11th
We are currently enjoying some extremely rare Tot-free time in the wilds of New Hampshire. And I do mean wilds. There is no cell coverage up here. It is, quite literally, the middle of nowhere. Which is wonderful. (It is also, as it turns out, the smallest town in all of New Hampshire and thus is the first place in the nation, typically, to announce its vote totals during national elections. The inn keeper loved my Obama/Biden 2008 T-Shirt I was wearing yesterday. +1 for this place.)
It is a wonderful place. Very picturesque and peaceful as you can see.

With 2 Bernese Mountain Dogs, the smaller one named ‘Felony’ is seen below. I love being able to get my dog-fix while on vacation.

Lovely gardens that are over-run with butterflies and humming birds at this time.

I’m not even going to tell you how delicious and wonderful the breakfast was. But I will tell you that a tray of chocolate-covered strawberries just arrived in the room and those are hitting the spot right now!
With some Tot-free time on our hands, and being up here in the beautiful White Mountain National Forest, we took in a short hike today. Since a “picture is worth a thousand words” I’ll shut up and simply post a sampling of some of the photos we took today during the hike. We took almost 100 pictures, so I won’t bore you with all of them, but a few, including the wild blueberry bushes we ate off of since, as we all know, “pics or it didn’t happen.”
Enjoy.
