See What Cutting Education Leads To?
Mar 12th
Just when you think you’ve seen it all you realize you haven’t even started. You get sent a link to something like this.
In case you don’t have a bucket handy, I will only reproduce a couple of the more … choice … excerpts for you.

Right. I’m pretty sure that Greg Ikerd up there, with all his faux-concern about those in need in this country, is probably dead-set against the Affordable Care Act.
But the real icing on this cake is this one:

See what happens when you cut education? You end up with people like Jack there. Those “damn krauts” and their “nuking pearl harbor.” (Note to any educationally-challenged readers: The Japanese aren’t ‘krauts’. That was a term used to refer to the Germans. And the Japanese didn’t ‘nuke’ Pearl Harbor since they didn’t have a nuclear weapon. Since they hadn’t been invented yet.)
But please, let’s cut education some more. Let’s see just how utterly ignorant a population can get and still sustain itself.
Tea Party Terrorists
Mar 3rd
I watched this and am sickened. Dumbfounded and sickened. I can understand how some ‘average’ citizens might be this ignorant, bigoted and hateful. But Congressman Ed Royce (R-CA) and Gary Miller (R-CA)? Those two ought to know better. At the very least the kind of xenophobic, hate-filled and downright ignorant rhetoric heard at this Klan Tea Party rally should have embarrassed them. Instead they praise it. They celebrate it. And in so doing they show their own ignorance and bigotry. They bring shame on themselves and the US House of Representatives.
The number of ignorant statements made by the crowd members is astonishing, but my favorite is, of course
It’s one nation under god not allah.
That is just so ridiculous on so many levels. So ginormously ignorant and blindingly stupid the mind boggles.
First, for those that are still ignorant of this fact, “One nation, under god” wasn’t actually written by Jesus, or George Washington, or any of the founding fathers. It is not a founding principle of this nation. It just isn’t. And if you think it is, please go back to Junior High School and apologize to your history teacher for utterly failing to learn anything. That, or junk-punch them for failing so miserably to teach facts. Either way. The Pledge of Allegiance wasn’t even written until 1892. And “one nation under God” was only added in 1954. Nineteen fifty four!!! That’s pretty recent. And for all you math-challenged Teahadists reading along, that’s well after all the founding fathers died. Really.
Second, and this will be a shock to most of the ignoramuses on the right suffering from islamophobia, allah actually means god. It is the standard Arabic word for God. So saying “it’s one nation under god, not allah” is like saying “it’s one nation under god, not deus.” Again, for you ignorant American Taliban members, Deus is the latin word for god. You know, the language that Catholic masses were celebrated in until relatively recently? You folks want to pass laws outlawing catholicism now? Don’t answer that.
But seriously. This is America. The United States of America. We at least used to pride ourselves on our tolerance. This country was actually founded on the principle of religious tolerance and freedom. Really. It was. Look it up. So when you American Taliban start screaming “go home” at Muslims, and denigrating their religion, all the while espousing your love of the Constitution? You look like idiots. Because what you are actually doing is standing there, shouting obscenities at muslims and pissing on that very same Constitution you claim to love (but have, apparently, never read). What if we all showed up at your fundamentalist church on Sunday and screamed at you and your kids about the crazy things your religion espouses? Right.
So do us all a favor. Shut up. Go home, and shut up. Go home, shut up, and at least attempt to educate yourselves. Learn something. Anything. Learn what you’re protesting for. Learn what you’re protesting against. And the next time you feel the need to go shout obscenities at someone, and their kids, because you’re too ignorant to understand what “freedom of religion” means? Shut up. Stay home, and shut up.
